Six Senses

Six Senses

March 15th, 2012

Been listening to a cd I recently got in from amazon.co.uk .  six senses, by claude challe. I

bought this after doing a search based on ‘buddha bar and siddaharta’ collection, which have

to be my favourites in my collection so far. When the cd arrived, I thought ‘oh shit I think I

have wasted money’ as the cover is a brochure for ‘six senses resorts’ with photos of a hammock

tied to two trees in the green shallows of the sea. So when I saved it on my itunes and played it,

I was kind of expecting the worst. Claude writes that 6th sense is ‘intuition, divine essence’. I

really get that from track 11, Mon Ange by Mademoiselle Caro & Franck Garcia, this song has

the ability to take me to a place, often accompanied by tears from the connection and

understanding. This is what I look for in music, to go where I understand and I am

understood, to have deep feelings, that brings on a familiar smell or ancient memory. It’s the

opening bars, by 30 seconds I have left my everyday thoughts and patterns and am now

transported deep into my being, perhaps this is my soul, probably provoked by the violin but

enhanced by the silence imbetween the notes and words. A place in the space, where I breathe

and rest. To connect with Intuition we need this space,  so the album is aptly titled and it feeds

all my senses like good music should.
