Humoresque, a woman in love with a violinist whose life is music. The film was made in
1946. I havent seen many Joan Crawford films, and in the review they mention her being
at the peak of sexiness. Incredible to see the drama, and how things spiral into despair
due to Helen Wright’s (Joan Crawford) adamance that Paul Boray (violinist) doesnt want
her enough. his music is his life and its so beautifully played through the dramatic scenes,
a reminder that Joan Crawford made at least 20 silent movies before this one. I read the
critics and want to say that I loved the drama, the glamour, the passion and long pauses.
Love stories in the olden days were passionate, the lovers desperate to be together despite
the many tragedies they face. films with intense passion in the music and the actors. though
the ending is tragic, and sometimes the pauses drag on, its refreshing to see no bars on
the intensity and rawness of love.
