HIFA 2012 – Leo

HIFA 2012 – Leo

May 08th, 2012

What an amazing show, first time I have

seen film and mime side by side in unison.

An hour of synchronicity. When the

animation came in it was truly spectacular..

Leo

A surprising and often hilarious one-man show that defies the laws of gravity. Directed

by Danie Briere, and featuring a stellar performance by Tobias Wegner, Leo finds himself

alone in a room where gravity goes wild, chalk drawings come to life, and a suitcase holds

more than you might think….

The show is the newest creation from groundbreaking German physical theatre company,

Circle of Eleven. The action takes place in a striking set that integrates continuous live

video projections creating a funny, intriguing, moving, and at times surreal world.

The show premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2011, where it won the

Three Weeks Editors Award, the Scotsman Fringe First Award, and the Carol Tambor Best

of Edinburgh Award. It has gone on to play to ecstatic audiences across Europe and on

Broadway in New York City.

“clever, witty and unexpectedly poignant”  The Herald/UK

“The funniest, most imaginative wordless performance I have ever seen. Fabulous!”

“one of the finest movement performances on the Fringe”  The Scotsman/UK –

Joyce McMillan

“LEO is a superb physical one-man dance show… mind-bending, illusionistic and

spellbinding… This show is destined for a great future” The Edinburgh Reporter/ UK
